Learning trajectories in Part-time Arts Education in Flanders
Part-time arts education (DKO) is an artistic training course that children (from 6 years old), adolescents and adults can take in their free time. Students can choose from a wide range of courses in different artistic disciplines (music, word, dance, visual and audiovisual arts). All these academies form a network of formal and certifiable art education in leisure, unique for Europe. Despite the presence of numerical data and discussions with directors and teachers, little is known about the careers of part-time arts education students. In this project, we focus on a central research question: What are the determinants of students' learning careers in Part-time Arts Education?
