Brussels Research Centre on Innovation in Learning and Diversity
The Brussels Research Centre on Innovation in Learning and Diversity (BILD) is a research group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. BILD approaches learning as a central analytical lens to examine how educational and cultural contexts are shaped and transformed. The group investigates how learning is supported and facilitated across diverse environments, and how these processes contribute to participation, professional agency, and lifelong learning. Learning is understood as a situated and mediated process, unfolding across both formal and informal contexts.
BILD's research is organised into two closely connected units that focus on:
- learner-centred practices & education systems
- arts, cultural practices & participation
